Open Minds Group (Open Minds, or sometimes just 'OMG') is a social and support group for LGBT people aged 18 to 25, living in the Wigan borough. The group has been established for over five years now with varying levels of activety.

Our aim is to create a friendly, social and supportive eviroment for our members while being active on a whole range of topics. We discuss the politics and issues surrounding LGBT, we attend festivals, conferences, and other events as a group to raise awareness of the facilities we offer and to help break down the barriers in some communities where LGBT people are not really represented. We also have fun events like residentials, trips out to the cinema or bowling and the like.

Each member of OMG is a volunteer for the group, the group has a committee structure which is how we operate, members are elected to positions on the committee, with all members having equal power within the group as well as our affiliates (whom have representatives from their organisation in OMG.) Our membership policy is simple, if you are interested in attending OMG and joining as a member, simply contact us and two members of the committee will meet you before hand for a chat and to give you a bit more information about who OMG is and what we have been upto (and probably what we are upto at the moment.)
